The Sudan and Khedives Sudan medals have minor edge bruising and wear but overall the medals are in good condition.
Thomas Henry Jones was born in Suffolk in 1876 but lived in Swarby, Lincolnshire, England. In civilian life, he was a Groom.
He joined the Suffolk Regiment in 1894 before transfer to the Lincs. Jones saw service with the 1st battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment in Sudan in 1896.
He was discharged in 1902, having been court-martialed. He reenlisted in the summer of 1914 and landed in France 22nd October 1914
He was wounded on 1st November 1914 sustaining a GSW to the Groin. It was a blighty wound, and he didn’t return to France until 7th April 1915. Ten days later he was again sent back to the UK having dislocated his Knee in the field. He rejoined his unit in on 17th July 1916, serving with them until he was again admitted to hospital in May 1917, after which he transferred to the Labour Corps.
