A first world war medal trio to 9964 Private (Drummer) George Atherley, 18th (3rd City Pals) Battalion, Manchester Regt. 

1914-15 Star named to 9964 Pte. G. Atherley, Manch. R. 
British War Medal named to 9964 Pte. G. Atherley. Manch. R. 
WW1 Victory Medal named to 9964 Pte. G. Atherley. Manch. R. 

George Atherley was born in Broughton, Salford. He enlisted in the 18th (Service) Bn. Manchester Regiment on 05/09/1914 and was a Drummer in the Bugle Band. He first entered France 18/11/1915. 

He transferred to the 1st/8th Bn on 06/04/1918 and was wounded (gun shot wound to the groin) on 29/09/1918. 

The medals are in good condition. 

Comes with some copy research.
