An Ashantee 1873-74 and RN LS&GC medal pair awarded to PLY.380 Private John Newcombe, Royal Marine Light Infantry. 

Ashantee Medal 1873-74 unnamed
Victorian Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal named to John Newcombe. Pte. No. 380. Plymo. R.M.L.I. 

Please note that the Ashantee medal is an unnamed example. It is not an erased medal. Possibly a specimen. 

Newcombe’s papers confirm entitlement of both medals. The Ashantee medal was for service on HMS Himalaya. 

Comes with copy papers.
